ACHD: Chronic Disease & Injury Prevention
The member’s role will be to promote, plan, and educate the community about Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention programs at the Allegheny County Health Department. This will be done by engaging school districts, community partners and families and caregivers to promote a collective impact strategy developed by the Healthy Kids Allegheny Task Force. The member will provide technical assistance to increase physical activity and improve nutrition in school, community-based and home settings. This member will have a focus on older adult outreach and education with a focus on falls prevention This person will promote injury prevention education information to the community. Lastly, the member will share obesity prevention resources to Live Well Allegheny participants and community partners.
Responsibilities:
• Actively participating in heath campaigns by monitoring health issue trends
• Creating and developing communications related to outreach campaigns
• Obtaining feedback to improve on communication materials
• Developing and providing health education for the community
• Planning, scheduling, and convening workgroups between organizations
• Providing health education to at-risk populations
