Description

Starting Point is looking for an NHC member to provide direct service to this vulnerable population by assisting in the following ways:
TALK - The NHC member would be trained in Adult/Youth Mental Health First Aid and Teen Mental health First Aid to assist in then providing this training to groups of adults and teens. The NHC member would also assist with suicide prevention presentations in schools and the community. The NHC member would preferably have marketing skills to assist SPBH in promoting Project TALKS.
ACT - The NHC member would work and collaborate with our Care Coordination department to receive referrals from community providers such as the Emergency Department, Crisis Stabilization Units, and the Mobile Response Team.
LISTEN - The NCH member would maintain a small caseload to provide case management services to current clients engaged in Project TALKS to help facilitate treatment and promote stabilization.
KNOW - The NHC member would reach out to appropriate referrals to help reduce barriers to entering specialized treatment. The NHC member would also help assist with any discharges to ensure clients are prepared with resources they may need in the future.
SUPPORT - The NHC member would assist with providing support groups for survivors of suicide and Teens experiencing increased stress and anxiety due to COVID-19.

Traits that would assist the candidate be successful in the position would be a genuine desire to assist persons struggling with substance use and maintaining their sobriety. They should enjoy providing presentations, education, and training. They should be creative, innovative, and able to provide some marketing and promotions. They should be organized, detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, be patient, calm and kind. The candidate should enjoy serving diverse populations, patients and staff on a daily basis, both in person and over the phone.
