Description
Cristo Rey High School provides quality private education along with work-study experience to students from low-income families, thus empowering them to overcome economic barriers and achieve success. Most students represent the first generation in their families to graduate from high school. A volunteer will serve as a student activities and campus ministry assistant. Duties would include some combination of the following based on the interest of the volunteer and needs of the site: tutoring and coordinating other tutors; assisting campus ministry with retreats, liturgies and service programs; assisting students with college applications and visits to local college campuses; supervising students who have on-campus work sites and transporting other students to off-campus work study sites.

Quarterly retreats are hosted by Mercy Volunteer Corps to provide volunteers with opportunities for reflection, spiritual growth, and shared experiences. Throughout the service year, Mercy Volunteer Corps provides volunteers with webinars for personal and professional development.
