Description

Mercy Center is a neighborhood center for women and families in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. It offers a variety of programs to a primarily immigrant population (mostly Spanish speaking): Youth Programs, Family Alternatives to Violence, Employment Training, ESL/Immigrant Services, Social Services/Case Management, and Personal Development. A volunteer is needed to serve as youth & social services worker, leading activities for the after-school program, coordinating youth camps, coordinating holiday food and gift programs, assisting with special workshops, and assisting with the various outreach programs. Conversational Spanish is helpful but not required.

$150 - $220 monthly

Quarterly retreats are hosted by Mercy Volunteer Corps to provide volunteers with opportunities for reflection, spiritual growth, and shared experiences. Throughout the service year, Mercy Volunteer Corps provides volunteers with webinars for personal and professional development.
