The PMSC AmeriCorps Community Wellness members will provide community members with education on healthy life choices and behaviors; and outreach, assessments, and referrals for housing, food, mental and health crisis services.

Service Activities

Educate youth and adults on healthy life choices and behaviors

Provide assessment, intakes and referrals for housing, food, mental and health crisis services

Increase community outreach

Volunteer management and recruitment

Community Need Addressed

With most community non-profits functioning with limited resources but experiencing an explosion of requests for services, the community partners in the PMSC region express a need for AmeriCorps members who can implement and assist in a variety of health and wellness services and educational programming related to community wellness in under-served and economically distressed communities

Position Outcomes

5,000 individuals will be provided with community wellness services as a result of AmeriCorps supported activities.
