The AmeriCorps Mapping and Outreach Corpsmember is based at the International Water Institute in Fargo, North Dakota. Under the guidance of an International Water Institute project supervisor, the Corpsmember will assist with GIS mapping projects, including gathering and analyzing data in ArcGIS. The member will also design education, outreach and promotional materials, and assist with watershed education programs in the Red River of the North Basin.

Service Activities

The Mapping and Outreach Corpsmember will assist with outreach efforts, including teacher training workshops, Fall Kick-Off, and River Watch Forum planning. The member will develop and design educational, outreach and promotional materials and assist high school students in preparation of their annual Forum assignment. The Member will also gather and analyze GIS data using ArcGIS.

The Conservation Corps addresses environmental challenges in our communities through the dedicated service of its members. The Mapping and Outreach Corpsmember will assist with GIS mapping, design education, outreach and promotional materials, and assist with watershed education programs.

Position Outcomes

The Mapping and Outreach Corpsmember will gain experience in gathering and analyzing GIS data, designing materials focused on education and promotion, and creating and delivering watershed education programs in the Red River of the North Basin.
