Service Activities

This project is seeking two AmeriCorps members who will work with the Family-Schools Services Coordinator in collaboration with the English Language Learner Coordinator to ensure equal access to education for homeless and low-income students. You will help to build the capacity of the homeless education donation program and develop a sustainable volunteer program that adequately meets the needs of these students. Other projects will include creating a low-barrier application for students whole are homeless, low-income, or English language learners, and developing a ‘kiosk approach’ that makes resources available to families and students. Spanish language fluency is strongly preferred.

Improve the capacity of the homeless education donation and donation volunteer programs; decrease barriers to school registration for homeless and low-income students; develop a summer program and a volunteer tutor program.
