The Institute for Educational Opportunities at the Montana Technological University (Montana Tech) is a consortium of programs developed to provide K-12 students with the support they need to achieve success in higher education.

Service Activities

Although based in Butte, the program operates a satellite program in Helena, MT. In this position you will serve on part of a team of five full-time AmeriCorps members supported by eight college student AmeriCorps members. You will provide one-on-one and small-group academic mentorship to high school students at Helena High School and Capitol High School, helping them to apply for college, explore careers, and succeed in school.

Increase academic success of Helena-region K-12 and college students

Position Outcomes

Provide mentorship and coaching to 30 low-income or first-generation college students. Provide K-12 students, college students, and other community members opportunities to volunteer on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Global Youth Service Day.
