The Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a community of faith uniting people to work for peace with justice.

• About Us
  The Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC) places adults over 21 ("fellows") in full-time service positions at social-justice organizations for one or two years; or for semesters of 3-5 months. Fellows are encouraged to explore LVC’s core principles: living simply and sustainably in intentional community while serving the cause of peace with justice. LVC provides a foundational learning experience around on racism, oppression, and privilege and how these intersect with social justice; and the role of spirituality in inspiring and sustaining leadership. LVC offers all Fellows placement with a social justice nonprofit, health insurance, reimbursement for work-related travel, modest stipend, and access to the social justice learning series. Year-Fellows live together in furnished group housing; while Flex Semester Fellows are matched in the LVC cities where they live, meet weekly with their local Volunteer peer group, with housing based on availability. Successful applicants will be comfortable and eager to engage diverse constituents to advance LVC’s inclusive aspirations. LVC has a small staff and serves approximately 50 service volunteers annually.
  
  Seeking people who wish to bridge social justice in practice with social justice theory; build leadership and employable skills in a social justice; and explore the LVC values of living in community, simply and sustainably to build communication across differences.
• Our Impact
  Over 90% of LVC alumni state that their year of service helped them to decide their career path and to gain their first job after their service year. Many fellows are hired by their Placements as permanent employees after gaining experience in the social justice field. Alumni maintain ties with their intentional communities throughout their lives.
