Description

Connecticut NDA members will serve in a variety of positions in inner city schools or non profit organizations. All positions are designed to provide academic assistance for grades K-12. NDA members support after school programs, receive educational training, support teachers in the classroom, assist in support and development of students, and facilitate school operations directly serving students. Each Service Site varies in its service description. Service sites are all located in Hartford this year.

Covenant Preparatory School (seeking 1-2 more members):
Covenant Prep is a tuition free, all boys middle school focused on ‘Inspiring community through excellence in character, academics, and service.’ They strive to graduate young men who are academically and socially prepared for high school, inspired to lead their lives in the pursuit of excellence, model leadership and integrity, and are committed to their communities.

Grace Academy (no longer seeking half-year members):
Grace Academy is a comprehensive educational program for girls’ grades 5-8. They are providing a rare opportunity for students to experience a tuition-free, college preparatory education in an atmosphere of respect and responsibility. They offer a structured, challenging and supportive educational program for students of all faiths in Hartford. They work to inspire intellectual, spiritual, moral, social, creative and athletic growth of each young girl and to nurture in a small school setting the full potential of her whole character.

Trinity Academy (no longer seeking half-year members):
Trinity Academy is an independent privately funded tuition-free elementary school, grades one through four, serving students and their families in the Hartford area. Their mission is to educate students in a nurturing and inclusive environment with a focus on intensive academics, the arts, literacy and critical thinking, and to help students to develop the strong core skills needed to grow socially, emotionally, and culturally.
