We believe that education is the fundamental tool in the struggle of the poor for human dignity, self-esteem, and self-determination. We seek to build community among our members, as well as the people with whom we work by reaching out across culture and class. We are committed to helping people help themselves. Our goal is to promote and encourage education, community empowerment, leadership development and multicultural harmony. Read More

  • About Us
Notre Dame Mission Volunteers provides support to schools and education based programs in over 25 cities in the US and abroad.

Our domestic program, Notre Dame - AmeriCorps (NDA), engages over 400 AmeriCorps members across the country. These members provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to students of all ages. NDA members serve in different locations on a daily basis, but they are part of teams (grouped by locality) that meet regularly for training and support.

Our international program works to place volunteers in localities abroad where the Sisters of Notre Dame (our founders) are located. Currently, our main focus is on Les Cayes, Haiti, where volunteers support youth education initiatives and job readiness programs including developing a bakery.
  • Our Impact
Notre Dame Mission Volunteers works to help students of all ages, from pre-kindergarten through late adulthood, unlock their potential by providing critical support, both in the classroom and in out-of-school programs. With our volunteers' support, students demonstrate increased academic engagement, reach higher reading levels, and receive key professional and life skills training.

Notre Dame AmeriCorps

Notre Dame - AmeriCorps (NDA) is Notre Dame Mission Volunteers' domestic service program. NDA engages over 400 AmeriCorps members each year. NDA members are part of local teams, but each member serves with one of our partnering sites on a day-to-day basis. NDA members support schools and other education-focused programs. They provide one-on-one and small-group instruction so that students receive the attention and assistance they need to reach their full potential.
