Description

NDA Chicago partners with elementary and middle schools, after-school programs, and community centers. Each site has a unique service description with members assisting in the classroom, serving as academic interventionists, providing additional support in after-school programs, leading computer literacy classes, as well providing graduate support and counseling. Member also attend bi-weekly team trainings and participate in a number of service projects in the communities where they serve.

2022-2023 Partnering Sites:
1. Girls in the Game: “At Girls in the Game, every girl finds her voice, discovers
her strength, and leads with fun and active sports, health, and leadership
programs. Our programs serve over 3,600 girls, ages 7-18, each year, reaching
over 15 Chicago neighborhoods. We prioritize girls of color from low-income
backgrounds who live in under-resourced neighborhoods.”

2. The Academy for Global Citizenship: “The Academy for Global Citizenship is
a Chicago Public Charter School, located on the underserved Southwest side
of Chicago. Our innovative and holistic approach to education aims to foster
systemic change and inspire the way society educates our future generations.
We are producing a replicable model for learning in the 21st century,
including the construction of a net-positive energy campus.”

3. Boys Hope Girls Hope Illinois: “One of 16 affiliates across the United States
and Latin America, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Illinois helps academically
motivated high school students rise above disadvantaged backgrounds and
become college-educated, career-ready, community-minded leaders. Our
goal is to graduate young people who are physically, emotionally, and
academically prepared for postsecondary education and a productive life,
breaking the cycle of poverty. BHGH firmly believes that children have the
power to overcome adversity, realize their potential, and help transform our
world. Children create these successes when we remove obstacles, support
and believe in them, and provide environments and opportunities that build
on their strengths.”

4. Marillac St. Vincent Food Pantry: “Marillac St. Vincent Family Services has
been building well-being in people of all ages in Chicago for over 100 years.
We provide vital programs and services in the areas of early childhood
education, youth services, and community outreach services. At Marillac St.
Vincent, we recognize the food insecurity that exists in the communities we
serve. In response to this need, we offer a Client Choice food pantry at each
location. The Client Choice model empowers adults and families to select the
food that meets their best needs.”

5. San Miguel School Chicago: “The mission of San Miguel School is to
transform the lives of our students, their families and communities through
education, by touching hearts and inspiring minds. San Miguel, a Catholic
and Lasallian school, envisions and educational community that provides
each student with emotional support, a sense of belonging, instills Gospel
values, and is animated by and fosters a spirit of Faith and Zeal. San Miguel
delivers diverse, exceptional, high quality, and a comprehensive educational
program for the under-served meeting recognized standards of excellence,
and promotes and sustains a vibrant relationship between the school and
