Mercy Medical Center is a community hospital located in downtown Baltimore where a diverse population is served. It was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1874 to address the dearth of healthcare services available to the underserved and continues to stay true to that mission today. Mercy Medical Center is one of the few hospitals in the nation with a Magnet designation. The campus includes a state-of-the-art, 300-bed patient tower. A volunteer is needed to support the work of the Social Work and Emergency Departments by providing patients and families with an interdisciplinary plan for care. The Mercy Volunteer will educate and connect patients will community resources in the process of discharge planning.
