Description
Our innovative Adult Education program prepares adult students for the high school equivalency exam (HiSET or GED) through personalized classroom teaching, one-on-one tutoring, and online self-study in reading, mathematics, and language/writing. AmeriCorps members will use methods and develop processes that encourage student self-assessment and self-monitoring, as well as involve learners appropriately in the planning, conducting and evaluating of learning activities. The Adult Education Specialist will document, analyze and summarize learning gains, based on both formal and informal assessment measures, in order to communicate with learners and external stakeholders. The service member will also assist the team with in the administration of the HiSET test

Additional Benefits
Martha O'Bryan Center provides an additional $500 living allowance to members for housing. We have a housing partnership to income-restricted housing, with no application fee or deposit. This housing partnership is subject to availability and some restrictions.
